who are we and what we’re all about

the vision.

(Otherwise known as the reason why we’d save Earth from a meteor)

To empower entrepreneurs

the mission.

(Or - How we bring the vision to life every day, week, month, year)

Equip entrepreneurs with storytelling, strategy & mindset tools to move the business forward

the values we cherish.

(How we live, work, play, connect with each other and ourselves)

believe in life-long learning

you're a life-long learner who is hungry for information, insight, and resources that will help you move the needle.

invest in yourself

YOU are an INVESTMENT, and you believe that fully. learning is just one way you choose to invest in yourself and your ideas.

be all in

you believe in the idea, the business, and YOU 100%. you're optimistic, hopeful, positive. that glass is absolutely half full.

practice being curious

you're a question asker, problem solver, truth seeker. you're curious. it's the only way to move from point a to point b (maybe take this out?). being curious always means being willing, eager, and confident in asking for help and support.

you're a smart, go getter

this world was shaped by smart go-getters like you who wake up early, push through the last 30 seconds of that run, and take responsibility for their lives.

is there such a thing as bonus values? yes.

we like to think we make all this possible with:

  • a sense fun
  • an eye for the practical
  • an appreciation for the approachable
  • a commitment to be real & human

the big why

Since 2014, toth shop has served over 1,000 businesses, emerging ideas, startups, and leaders. Today, we’re constantly navigating clients across several time zones around the world; our team lives across the country; we have a pipeline of new work moving constantly.

It wasn’t always like that.

I started toth shop as a side hustle from my one-bedroom apartment. I had one client - she told someone about my work; that person told someone else, and so on…

It always starts small. It always starts a little messy. It always starts with no clear path forward.

I didn’t write a business plan. I didn’t take out a loan or ask for investors. I didn’t wait until the time was right. Those are all delay tactics. (I think you probably know that in your gut.)

About a year before I started toth shop, I graduated with my MBA from one of the top accounting programs in the country. But let me say this - ironically, I didn’t learn how to start a business in business school. I learned how to WORK FOR a business in business school. If you’re a first-time business owner, coach, maker, creator, idea generator, you already know starting a business and working for a business are very different things.

The difference is ownership. From this point forward, you must OWN the work you’re up to now - whether it’s your idea, your website copy, your client engagement and experience.

You own it from here on out. It starts now.

crawford wentink.

director of operations at toth shop.

She joined toth shop as an intern in January 2019. During the part-time internship, she hit the ground running: rebuilding the company’s website, implementing a new billing system, and working with creative collaborators, including designers and photographers. Six months later, she was promoted to Director of Operations.

In the four years she’s been with toth shop, Wentink has continued to put into action operational and communication systems, including Dubsado, Monday.com and SLACK, as well as hiring and onboarding practices. Her commitment to the brand’s vision has grown toth shop’s footprint from a local shop to a non-traditional creative agency with a worldwide impact.
